1. PURPOSE

Petrolland Oil and Gas Opu Akaha Limited proposes a structured community-development programme supporting sustainable economic, environmental, energy, technical and social development across communities within the wider Akassa coastal region.

The initiative brings together private-sector investment, government cooperation, community participation, development organizations and industry partnerships to create practical and sustainable benefits for the people of Akassa.

Petrolland will support research and documentation relating to the historical development of Akassa Clan and its communities.

Areas of documentation may include:

Origins of Akassa

Laah, Opu Akaha and the earlier presence of Biebiri/Polo.

Sangana / Kamatoru

Its place in the traditional settlement and migration history of Akassa.

Kolobie & Hununu

Their founding traditions and connections with Kamatoru/Sangana.

Egweama, Beletiama & Liama

The traditional history of Egwe, Bele and Lia.

Foniweitoro / Fishtown

Its historical and coastal significance.

Akassa Coastal Territory

Historical waterways, settlements and traditional geographical references.
